Nordic Rheology Conference 2013

The 22nd Nordic Rheology Conference will be held in Copenhagen, Denmark, June 12-14, 2013 The conference will be organized by the Nordic Rheology Society together with the Department of Pharmacy at Copenhagen University. There will be a mixture of plenary lectures by invited speakers and contributions from NRC delegates, both as oral presentations and posters. The Annual Business Meeting of NRS will be held in connection with the conference programme. Moreover, you will have a possibility experience the latest advances in rheological instruments at the technical exhibition on the conference site.

Scope and theme  

The special topic is:

Biorheology and Rheology of Pharmaceuticals, Biopolymers and Foods

In addition, a special session on powder rheology will be arranged. As always contributions in all fields of rheology are welcome, in addition to papers on the special topic. The venue will be Copenhagen University. The first call as well as the first confirmed invited speakers will be announced shortly.

Rheology Course  

Prior to the conference, on Wednesday June 12, a course in rheology will be given. The aim of the course is to familiarize the newcomers to the basics of rheology as well as give an insight to different specialized experimental techniques.

 

 

Social events  

A Welcome reception will be arranged on Wednesday June 12th  at the Copenhagen University and will be an exciting mix of mingling, science, and treating your taste buds. The conference dinner on Thursday June 13th will be hosted by the historical university ceremony hall ”Festsalen” in the heart of Copenhagen.


Those who still have energy after the dinner, can conveniently continue in the vibrant nightlife of the Danish capital, enjoy the light summer night with a walk to The Little Mermaid, or how about trying a nightly rollercoaster ride in Tivoli?

 

Call for papers  

Presentations in all areas of rheology are welcome, both as posters and oral presentations. Presenters should send a one-page abstract to the NRS editor Anni Sorvari by March 15, 2013. The full manuscripts for both posters and oral presentations will be published in the Annual Transactions of the NRS. A print ready manuscript should be prepared using the transaction template and sent to Anni by April 15. In order to be included in the Annual Transactions the conference fee has to be paid. Further instructions are found in the transaction template.

Student Travel Grant

Students who are NRS members are encouraged to apply for the NRS Student Travel Grant. Please send a one-page letter with supervisors signature, to the NRS President  before April 1.

 

The letter should outline how how your contribution will contribute to promoting rheology in the Nordic Countries, together with the title of the talk/poster. Grants of 250 Euro each are available.
